Healthy Ways to Look at Your BAD Performances

Hahaha. Time for some healthy-er ways to accept your god-awful dance performances. I’ve done it before and hated myself for it.

Here’s a story. One time my partner and I were invited to do a performance at a local dance studio (Atomic Ballroom)

1. You have to laugh at it.

It’s bad, it’s hilariously bad. And YOU did it. You should be as embarrassed as if you let out a fart in yoga class. How embarassing but also how hilarious. It doesn’t represent the totality of your dance. It doesn’t represent who you are as a person and as a dancer for all of eternity. It happened and now you get to enjoy it.

2. Move on.

Don’t dwell on it. Don’t kick yourself for all the mistakes. Take some notes of what to work on and MOVE ON!

3. Show it to your friends (or maybe this is the end of part 1)
