2-Legged Mollinetes

Mollinetes are the simple FORWARD-SIDE-BACK-SIDE pattern that goes on and on forever. And typically, you’d mark each step as you change weight fully to that one foot. FORWARD is when you land forward on one foot, SIDE is when you land sideways into one foot.

But what if you were to change that up?

Instead of accenting when you land fully onto one foot, we accent it when you touch your foot down and kind of split-weight between both feet? To be exact, I would say it’s 75% weight on the front foot and 25% weight on the back foot.

So now what you’re doing calling FORWARD-SIDE-BACK-SIDE as you get to the 75/25 position of each step.

What does this do? This new emphasis gives you more stability and control. Helps you to pass properly through the middle of each weight change instead of falling over each step of the turn.
